The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is for anyone undergoing serious illness or anyone approaching a major medical procedure. For anyone seeking the Anointing of the Sick, whether for themselves or for someone else, do not hesitate to reach out to the priests by either stopping them after Mass or by calling the staff to schedule an appointment at 617-846-7400, ext. 3. There is no need to wait until the final days of one’s illness to do this.
By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests, the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them. and indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ.
